Tuina
Tuina is a Chinese Medical Massage that can be used to treat internal conditions as well as musculo-skeletal complaints. It is typically carried out through cloth or clothing (see photo on the right) and doesn’t require the use of oils.
I first trained in Tuina at the College of Integrated in Chinese Medicine, Reading, in 2010, and I subsequently went to China in 2012 to undertake further clinical training at the Yunnan Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Kunming.
Use in the clinic
I typically use Tuina alongside acupuncture, as the two together form a very powerful combination. However if you would like to have Tuina as a stand alone treatment then please do get in touch, as it can be used in this way and in some circumstances can provide a good alternative to acupuncture.
